Senior Construction Economist
Set the standard our cost estimates are measured against.
The role
You bring the judgment of an experienced cost planner to TECTIC. You decide what a correct estimate is, check what the agents produce before offices rely on it, and turn your experience into rules our engineers can build.
What you will do
- Build and maintain the reference estimates TECTIC is measured against, from the rough estimate to the detailed estimate.
- Review the agents’ results by element and BKP code, find systematic errors, and decide how they are fixed.
- Shape how we measure accuracy, including in the Precision Report.
- Work with the architecture offices that use TECTIC, as a peer who has prepared estimates like theirs.
- Write requirements and test cases with our engineering team.
What we look for
- At least eight years of cost planning in Switzerland, up to detailed estimates you answered for.
- Confident command of BKP, eBKP-H, and NPK, and of tenders and offer comparisons in practice.
- A precise way of working: you can explain why a number is right, and you notice when it is not.
- German or French at a very high level, good knowledge of the other, and English for working with our engineering team.
Also valuable
- A qualification in construction economics, architecture, or civil engineering.
- Experience with BIM models (IFC) in cost planning.
- Experience on the client side, as an owner’s representative or at a general or total contractor.
